attention seeking
Performance based
Gratification.
Sharing your
Every move
With more strangers,
Than friends.
The scrolling trap,
leads to the
constant comparing
and viewing of
seducing images,
Which keeps the mind trapped
in chasing the
next dopamine high.
It only takes
a quick flick
of the thumb,
a simple swipe
to bring instant
temporary satisfaction.
Thousands of followers
Likes and friend requests,
Yet the emptiness your
seeking to fulfill
is a futile attempt
to fill the void
for significance,
which continues
to go unmet.

binding you

others problems.

insanity.

it’s an inhibited
attempt to
find your identity
within the borders
of others standards.

She once was lost…
She had been lost.
circling
endlessly
in the
familiar
yet
damaging
safe
space
within
her own
barriers.
Slowly
watching
the fibers
of her
identity
unravel,
fading away.
With
every
thread
being
pulled,
she could
no longer
sit still
willingly
giving it all away.

been lost,
is no longer missing.

She uncovered the secrets that haunted her in the middle of the night,
those undisclosed images that had been safely tucked away in the remote
areas of her mind, are no longer
given permission to run rampant
through her thoughts.
Courageously, she stood up
and faced those lies,
that had comfortably laid itself
dormant around the very core of her being.
She stripped herself of the heaviness,
that attempted to overshadow
every good thing.
And bravely, no longer allowed fear
to define her worth.
